If you're generating a document from an item that has related subitems, you can insert one or more tables of subitems into your document.
Say you have an item that represents a sales order and subitems that represent the products on the order:
In the example above, we have four line items in the subitems: Two lines are products (USB Hub and Bluetooth Headphone) and two are services (Installation and Delivery.)
You would like to insert two tables into your document, one for products and another one for services:
- Open (or create) a DocuGen item view. In the example above, you should add the DocuGen view to the main item ("Universal Containers").
- Go to Settings > Subitems:
- Click "+ Add table" and give a name to your table:
- If you want to limit the subitems based on certain criteria, click the "Filter..." button to apply filters to the table.
- Make sure you select the columns that should go in the table:
- Click the back arrow
to go back to the Subitems tab.
- Click "+ Add table" again and repeat the previous steps to create another table for services. Once you're done, the Subitems tab will appear like this:
- Open your Microsoft Word document
- Copy the Products table placeholder and paste it into your document:

- Repeat the previous step for the Services table.
That's it! Your template is ready to use: just go to the Settings > Template tab and upload your template.
You can also style the table as you wish, for example by changing the font, styling (bold, italic, etc.), text color, cell shading, text alignment, column widths, etc.:

Would be nice if you could include al subitems from a board...
example.
boards main items are a checklist for a construction and subitems are materials used for each main item... i whant to gen a list of materials used...

Is there a way to sort the subitems table?
Now the order is not the same order as the one we se in Monday and we cannot see any way to set it. Looks like is sorting by the latest modified subitem at the end of the table.

Please be informed that when you generate a document containing a table of items or subitems, the table rows will be in the same order as your board items (or subitems) were created. If you rearrange the items/subitems on your board, the generated table in your document will not be rearranged accordingly; instead, it will continue to display rows in the order they were created in your board.
This is a limitation we are working on resolving and once this gets implemented we will surely let you know!
