DocuGen Sign allows you to place different types of fields on your document. These fields are primarily intended to be filled out by the signer(s). "Date signed" is the exception since it's filled out automatically by DocuGen Sign and cannot be edited by the signer.
To drag and drop signature fields:
- Go to the DocuGen Sign view
- Click on the Settings tab
- Expand the "Signers" accordion
- Click on the "Set signers..." button
- From the left panel, add or select a signer, then drag one of the placeholders into the document on the right
🤓 Pro tip: You can drag the same placeholder multiple times. For example, if you need the signer to sign at multiple locations in the document, drag the signature placeholder at each location where a signature is required. |

Signature
|
This is the field where the signer will apply their signature to the document. You can place multiple signature fields on the same document (or even the same page.) The signature field is always required to be filled by the signer: The signer will not be able to submit their information without signing all the signature fields assigned to them. |
Signer name
|
This is the field where the signer will provide their name. When you insert the field, or if you double-click on the field, you will see a dialog box where you can specify if the signer name is required or not:
If you check the box "Required", the signer will not be able to submit their information without filling out the field. |
Date signed
|
This field will be automatically filled out with the date on which the corresponding signer signed the document. This field is not editable by the signer. When you insert the field, or if you double-click on the field, you will see a dialog box where you can specify if the date signed should be saved in your board:
