This article will show you how you can generate documents based on a single row of data using a button column.
1. Add a Button column
Add a button column to your board; let's call it “Generate Doc”:
When you first add a new button column, monday.com shows a “Set up” form to help you set up the button. Ignore this form and follow the steps below instead.
2. Add a Files column
Add a Files column to your board; this is where DocuGen will save the generated documents.
Make to update your DocuGen view Settings to deliver the generated document to the new Files column:
3. Add a DocuGen integration recipe
Go to “Integrations” at the top of your board and search for DocuGen integrations, then click on the integration recipe called “When this button is clicked, generate document using settings from this view.”
Fill the integration recipe as follows:
4. Click on the button to generate a document
Click on the "Generate Doc" button on any row then go to your DocuGen view. Within a few seconds you will see a new document saved in the Files column. Voila!
