Here is the scenario:

1. You copy and paste placeholders into your Word document template. The placeholders refer to board columns by name; for example, <<column_firstrow:Due date>>
2. You upload the Word document to DocuGen and generate documents successfully.
3. You decide to rename the "Due date" column on your board to "Expiry date".

Guess what, the placeholders in your document will continue to work despite the column name change! This is because DocuGen listens to any column name changes after you upload your template. This allows DocuGen to recognize the placeholders even though the column name has changed.

Note, however, that DocuGen does not update your template. If you decided to download, edit, and reupload the template, you must update all placeholders to match the column names at the time you upload the template.
