You can insert HubSpot properties into your document templates so that DocuGen populates them with the actual values when you generate a document or send it for signature. You can access the full list of properties when you use the Live editor, either when you create a new recipe or edit an existing one.
Explore properties
In this example, I will click Edit below the name of a template on an existing Deal recipe, but this applies to recipes on any object:
The list of all properties appears in the right panel of the Live editor:
The properties panel includes multiple accordions:
-
Deal lists all the Deal properties, such as Deal name, Deal close date, etc. If this recipe is related to a Company or a Contact or some other HubSpot object, the accordion will be for that specific object. Here is what you see if you click on the Deal accordion to expand it; each property includes the grayed out value from the current Deal record. You can also hover on the property to see its description:
- Owner lists all the properties related to the record owner's user in HubSpot, such as email, first name, etc.
- Primary Company lists the properties related to the Company marked as the primary one for this Deal. HubSpot allows one company as the primary one on a deal.
-
Contacts, Line Items, Quotes, Tickets, and other accordions with a plural name will populate repeating lists. For example, if you use the Annual contract value (property ID = hs_acv) under Line Items, this is the result:

Accordions with the word "table" will populate an actual table. For example, inserting the Line Items Table accordion will give this result:

- The Signature accordion allows you to insert placeholders for signers. Learn more here.
