| ⚠️ If you use branded emails in any of your DocuGen settings, this article is for you. |
Branded emails allow you to automatically send your generated documents to third parties (like your customers) using your own Gmail or Microsoft email address.
What's changing?
Starting Monday 3 November 2025 when a user generates a document using DocuGen branded emails, DocuGen will send the generated document to the intended recipient using the sender email address, even if the sender email address is that of another user.
The sender email address is specified under Settings > Delivery > Customize...:
Prior to this change, if the user generating the document is not the same one who set the sender email address, DocuGen would send the email from no-reply@docugen.io.
Example:
- Jim Administrator sets up DocuGen to send documents from jim@mycompany.com
- Jim's colleague, Bob User, generates a document.
- Prior to 3 Nov 2025: DocuGen sends the document generated by Bob from "DocuGen on behalf of Bob User <no-reply@docugen.io>"
- Starting 3 Nov 2025: DocuGen sends the document generated by Bob from "Jim Administrator <jim@mycompany.com>"
What should you do?
If the new behavior complies with your requirements, there is nothing to do.
If you don't want DocuGen to send branded emails when other users generate documents, you must change the sender email to no-reply@docugen.io:
